Strain, Pressure,
and Force

Strain, Pressure, and Force products measure signals from bridge-based sensors such as strain gages, load cells, and more. You can use these products to excite, condition, acquire and digitize measurements.

Platform Modules

Platform modules and controllers integrate with modular hardware platforms that allow you to combine different types of modules in a custom system that leverages shared platform features.

NI offers three hardware platforms—CompactDAQ, CompactRIO, and PXI—though all platforms may not be represented in this category.

C Series Strain/Bridge Input Module

C Series Strain/Bridge Input Module

Provides analog input channels for measuring strain as part of CompactDAQ or CompactRIO systems.

The C Series Strain/Bridge Input Module works with higher-channel-count, dynamic strain measurement systems. Modules can acquire measurements from up to eight channels, with compatibility options for quarter-, half-, and full-bridge sensors. The C Series Strain/Bridge Input Module is ideal for application channels requiring measurements at particular times, such as impact tests. It includes built-in voltage excitation, as well as transient isolation for high-common-mode noise rejection and improved safety. The C Series Strain/Bridge Input Module includes the NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility that simplify configuration and measurements. NI-DAQmx supports NI programming environments as well as Python, ANSI C, C#.NET, and MathWorks MATLAB® software.

Strain/Bridge Input Device for FieldDAQ

Strain/Bridge Input Device for FieldDAQ

Measures bridge-based sensors, such as strain gages and load cells, in rugged environments. FieldDAQ™ devices are dust- and water-resistant and offer TSN technology for simplified distribution.

The Strain/Bridge Input Device for FieldDAQ measures up to eight channels and has built-in bridge completion and voltage excitation to support for quarter-, half-, and full-bridge sensors. The module also features anti-alias filtering, offset nulling, and shunt calibration to reduce the effect of noise and improve measurement accuracy. Additionally, the module incorporates time sensitive networking (TSN), which provides tight synchronization over a distributed network of data acquisition nodes without additional cabling or complex programming.

PXI Strain/Bridge Input Module

PXI Strain/Bridge Input Module

Measures bridge-based sensors, such as strain gages and load cells, in PXI systems.

The PXI Strain/Bridge Input Module features up to eight channels that support quarter-, half-, or full-bridge sensors at speeds up to 102.4 kS/s. This module provide increased accuracy, high data throughput, and a range of synchronization features. The module is ideal for dynamic strain, load and pressure measurements, and test cell installations requiring accuracy and flexibility. Some models include optional features such as remote sensing, internal bridge completion, and shunt calibration options per channel. The PXI Strain/Bridge Input Module includes the NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility that simplify configuration and measurements. NI-DAQmx supports NI programming environments as well as Python, ANSI C, C#.NET, and MathWorks MATLAB® software.
