PC-Based Systems
In a PC-based measurement and control system, NI hardware products are connected to your PC or laptop through USB or Ethernet. This kind of system has two main architectures: directly connect a multifunction I/O device to your PC or connect a CompactDAQ Chassis to your PC, and populate this chassis with conditioned I/O modules. CompactDAQ provides the most customizable solution with direct sensor connectivity.

Multifunction I/O Devices
Multifunction I/O Devices
The Multifunction I/O Device features I/O with varying channels, sample rates, output rates, and other features to meet many common measurement requirements. You can use the device for industry applications such as laboratory automation, research, and design verification. The included DAQExpress companion software provides basic measurement and analysis, while the included NI-DAQmx driver provides the ability to create customized automated measurement and control applications. NI-DAQmx supports NI programming environments as well as Python, ANSI C, C#.NET, and MathWorks MATLAB® software.

CompactDAQ Chassis
CompactDAQ Chassis
CompactDAQ Chassis feature USB, Ethernet, or WiFi connectivity and come in multiple slot counts to provide the right amount of I/O for various applications. You use these models with a combination of C Series I/O modules to create a mix of analog I/O, digital I/O, and counter/timer measurements. CompactDAQ Chassis can include multiple general-purpose counters/timers that you can access through an installed, hardware-timed digital C Series module for applications that involve quadrature encoders, PWM, event counting, pulse train generation, and period or frequency measurement. CompactDAQ Chassis also offer multiple timing engines, which allow you to run multiple hardware-timed operations simultaneously with independent rates for analog input.
