Platform Modules

Platform modules integrate with modular hardware platforms that allow you to combine different types of modules in a custom system that leverages shared platform features. NI offers three hardware platforms—CompactDAQ, CompactRIO, and PXI—though all platforms may not be represented in this category.

C Series Current Input Module

C Series Current Input Module

Provides current measurements for CompactDAQ and CompactRIO systems.

The C Series Current Input Module features programmable input ranges, variable connectivity options, and built-in noise rejection. You can also choose from options with built-in anti-aliasing filters or high-channel density to reduce the number of modules needed. The C Series Current Input Module supports safety features, certifications, input ranges, overvoltage ranges, and connectivity for applications such as power quality monitoring and metering, utility pole-mounted smart switches, utility pole-mounted smart grid reclosers, substation merging units, industrial machine measurements, health monitoring, predictive maintenance and prognostics, and phasor measurement units (PMUs). The C Series Current Input Module includes the NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility that simplify configuration and measurements. NI-DAQmx supports NI programming environments as well as Python, ANSI C, C#.NET, and MathWorks MATLAB® software.

C Series Current Output Module

Controls industrial current-driven actuators at high rates as part of CompactDAQ or CompactRIO systems.

The C Series Current Output Module features up to eight channels of simultaneous analog output. You can choose between enclosed and non-enclosed modules. Additionally, the C Series Current Output Module has built-in open-loop detection. This detection generates an interrupt in software when an open loop is detected, zeros outputs to ensure safety, and avoids driving actuators at system power-on.

PXI Analog Input Module

Provides analog input signals for PXI systems.

The PXI Analog Input Module features multiple analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) as well as built-in signal conditioning. The module features sample rates that range from 5 kS/s/ch to 20 MS/s. You can choose from modules that offer up to 28 bits of resolution and up to 32 simultaneous channels. Analog Output Module for Remote I/O

Provides analog output channels for current or voltage for remote I/O systems. Remote I/O modules must be used with a supported NI real-time controller.

The Analog Output Module for Remote I/O features a 2-wire spring terminal connection, selectable output ranges (0 V to 10 V, ±10 V, 0 V to 5 V, ±5 V, 0 mA to 20 mA, 4 mA to 20 mA, and ±20 mA) output ranges, and short circuit proof outputs. A remote I/O system consists of an EtherCAT bus coupler and individual modules mounted on a DIN rail.
